Dr. John Zettelmaier obtained degrees from Western Michigan University (BA), Michigan State University (MS), and the University of Michigan Medical School (MD). He is a member of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, an American Board of Family Practice Diplomate, an American Academy of Family Physicians Life Member and Fellow, and a Life Member of the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Zettelmaier was a founder of the Gobles School Foundation in Gobles, Michigan, and a member of the School Board at Gobles Schools. He has served as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Salvation Army and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Western.

Now residing in Chelsea, Michigan, with his wife Mary Ann, Dr. Zettelmaier currently enjoys volunteering at Faith In Action, a local assistance and resource center for individuals and families in need.
